I don't shampoo.
When dying your hair, you are not supposed to mess with your scalp. The least amount of massaging possible is best.

nopes, generally you apply the dye, then rinse with warm water until it runs clear or just about, apply the conditioner that comes with it, and then rinse. and that's the job done.
:) oh, and dont use head and shoulders shampoo or conditioner on coloured hair - it strips the colour off it!   i found out the hard way when it was the only shamp we had in the bathroom.  learn from my mistake!
hope you're happy with the end result! :)

No, by rinse, it just means wash out with water. As you would rinse after shampooing.

i always shampoo after dying.  There really isnt any problem with it as long as you dont ravage your hair in the process.  Just use a bit to help get the dye out and gently rinse it out.

My mom INSISTS that I shampoo after I rinse the dye out, and she was a hairdresser for years. However, I'd just use the conditioner that comes with the dye. Also, I only wash and condition my hair every other day. And rinsing with cold water helps the color stay, because heat opens the hair follicle and the colour will come out. And nobody wants that :-(
